About Event

A relaxed and honest session to rethink how you present yourself in the blockchain and tech world without empty phrases or coaching clichés, coordinated by Nita (Juana Cervio) and the team of Normies Network as part of the LatAm Community Hub at Devconnect.

Networking isn’t easy. A lot of people try the same old intro (“I’m proactive, passionate about technology”), try to pitch ideas to others, or talk to people only hoping to get hired or recommended, but we all know that in the long run, that doesn’t really work.

Our goal in this session is to break down the clichés of networking and personal branding, and understand what makes a presentation genuine, something people actually remember. We’ll talk about how to describe what you’re working on (whether you’re employed, building something, or collaborating in a community), how to write a headline or bio that truly reflects what you do, how to ask questions or make contributions when someone introduces themselves to you, and even what to write on your badge or interacts with other in events like Devconnect.

We’ll also connect this to job searching and real industry insights: how to spot opportunities without sounding like you’re “asking for a job,” how to talk about your experience without overexplaining, and how to use curiosity and active listening as tools to build relationships that can turn into collaborations, references, or even job offers, not necessarily right away, but with the goal of building a career in an industry with no “magic shortcuts” or “hype.”

The core exercise will focus not only on rethinking how you introduce yourself, which keywords you use, and how you communicate, but also on learning to actively listen to the person in front of you: asking questions, adding value to what they say, and from there, rethinking how you describe your own work.

Ideal for: devs, marketers, recruiters, founders, content creators, community builders, and anyone tired of “cardboard networking” who still wants to use community spaces to connect for real.

🪪 Note: You’ll need a Devconnect ticket to attend this session. We will try to make this workshop bilingual, and is open to both Spanish and English speakers :)
