Mastering Self-Paced Learning | Regenerative Education
Our ancestors always knew something.
They learned from the soil, the cycles of the sun, from plants that have existed for millions of years carrying the memory of everything on Earth. They learned from each other, around fire, in ceremony through generations. They learned by observing - themselves first, then the world reflecting back what they needed to know.
No books, no radio, no TV, no internet, nor screens stealing their attention. No separation between learning and living. It was all in the present.
This is what we are remembering now.
Ancient Regenerative Education
Self-paced learning in the old way lived in permaculture - in Observe and Interact, the first principle that taught us to see ourselves in relationship with all life. It flowed through plant medicine and ceremony, where plants became our teachers, activating our connection to the collective consciousness. It existed in the seasonal rhythms we honored - fasting and detoxing at the equinoxes and solstices, cleaning our vessels so they could remember what it means to be human, connected, purposeful.
It emerged in community, where each person's story, each interaction, each moment of authentic exchange became the curriculum.
Regenerative Education Today
We are building the same learning today - in modern containers. In retreats where you step away from distraction and remember your body. In communities that gather online and in person to tend themselves together. In mentorship and coaching rooted in presence, not information. In seasonal detox programs aligned with the sun's cycles. In gatherings where ancient wisdom meets contemporary understanding.
The form changes. The principle remains: learning begins with presence. With you learning how to be in your own body again. How to listen to what your temple is telling you. How to interact with each person, each plant, each moment as your own teacher.
When you tend yourself - truly tend yourself - the sickness leaves. The distraction dissolves. The loneliness ends. It stops consuming you.
You finally realize you can return home.
In this gathering, we explore how the ancient way and the regenerative path we are walking today are one and the same. How tending yourself becomes tending the world. How presence becomes purpose.
We are honored to welcome Angie - Rainbow G from NERA Alliance, who brings their wisdom on this topic and her project and how it weaves into the regenerative education movement we are building together.
You are the teacher. The student. The path for regeneration.
