Black Heart - book
The book Black Heart is a publication that concludes an artistic gesture — a manifesto initiated in 2020. The request for tin cans, from which I made pinhole cameras, creating one in the shape of a heart and hanging it on the building where I had my studio at the time, were artistic acts born in a difficult and ambiguous moment — the time of the pandemic. What resonated within me then were tenderness and vigilance. In my work, I combined the idea of the camera — of soulless surveillance, of the penetrating eye — with the symbol of the heart. The heart camera was exposed using the technique of solarigraphy, which refers to the Sun — the transformative element.
The book presents the images captured by the heart camera — 55 solarigraphs — and serves as a notebook from the time of the pandemic.
