CEO Alex Ksendzovsky from The Biological Computing Company on how to evolve computation with live neurons.
TBC grows cortical neurons on electrode arrays and uses their intrinsic dynamics to generate richer representations for AI models. Their biological adapters have demonstrated a 23× improvement in video model efficiency, and their bio-inspired plasticity algorithms outperform standard approaches on continual learning benchmarks. TBC raised a $25M seed led by Primary Ventures, the same firm that wrote the first check into Etched.
Alex is a neurosurgeon turned founder who was inspired to pursue biological computing when he first saw a robot powered by a single neuron as an undergrad. He'll walk through the science, the product, and the path from two decades of research to a commercial company building at the frontier of biological compute.
