About Event

Fractional friends, indy consultants, Strategic Pivotery fans!

You've got an idea of your best-fit customer, you're carving out a space for yourself online, and you've got a messy mental list of folks you've been meaning to reach out to for months.

What you don't have is a 90-minute block each Wednesday where you've actually committed to sitting down and sending the damn text, email, LinkedIn DM, substack post!

That's what this is.

Patio Prospecting is a sunny, cozy sprint where you show up, you prospect, and you tell the group what you sent before you drop off. No automated sequences. No complicated software (unless you want to test out my Claude prospecting research workflow....) Just a 4-week outreach sprint with like-minded ladies all doing the same thing: the kind of accountability that actually works.

We're keeping it to 20 people, starting inside the Strategic Pivotery community. We're doing it from wherever feels good: a porch, a patio, a stoop, a park bench, a coffee shop corner. Beverage of your choice strongly encouraged.

The format

The format: four Wednesdays, 10–11:30 AM PT via Zoom.

  • Nov 4: Meet, get clear on your outreach goal, and build your list of 10 people (prospective clients or industry insiders).

  • Nov 11: Write the messages. Send them. On the call, together, before you have time to second-guess yourself. Real-time round of applause included.

  • Nov 18: Follow up with the folks you contacted. Notice what’s working. Adjust.

  • Thanksgiving week: we rest. So much to be grateful for, amid allllll the things.

  • Dec 2: Build the habit. Decide what you want to bring forward, and how.

Inside the Strategic Pivotery community, we'll have a private Slack channel for accountability, encouragement, and the occasional recipe, playlist, or book rec.

We'll also give you an editable digital workbook where you can document your goals, lists, progress, and reflections all in one place.

Who this is for

People doing (or moving into) fractional, consulting, or independent work who already have some positioning clarity and need help closing the gap between:

"I should reach out to people"

and

"I sent the message."

This is not a course on discovering your niche or building your brand. Our goal is simpler: let's reserve the time, be around other folks doing the same thing, and reach out to real people.

A few more details:

Why $89? I'm not a Swiftie, but 1989 is the fake birth year I enter on forms that make me scroll too far. It felt right.

Half the proceeds will go to Moms Demand Action, because we stand for safe communities and badass women leading the way! A grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence is the antithesis of the "status bro." We're here to vote with our dollars for the world we want to live in.

We believe in 1:1 outreach over broadcast noise, relationships over volume, and building a business that fits your life rather than consuming it.

Cohort capped at 20. Women-only for this first round.

Hosted through Strategic Pivotery by Meg Scheding and community co-collaborator, Leslie Forman!

About Meg Scheding: I’ve been consulting with startups as a fractional product marketing leader for many years, and started my sub 'stack (and semi-secret Slack community) to help burnt-out tech workers build $$$K+ consulting practices using the same GTM frameworks that scale unicorns. I’ve scaled GTM and foundational messaging at Brex, Ashby, Jasper AI (among many) and have now built a thriving solo practice. I’m not a life coach helping people find balance; I’m a former startup operator teaching other operators how to monetize their hard-won expertise. I teach folks how to use the same tools they learned surviving startup life to build premium fractional businesses.

About Leslie Forman: Leslie is newer to fractional work, and she is launching her practice as an indy user researcher, workshop facilitator, and product discovery coach within this process. She's bringing experience from LinkedIn, Cisco, Workday, and the California College of Arts. She’s here to experiment on how to reach out to people in an earlier stage, share what's working, and bring her design education and workshop experience to this community.

Come with a hypothesis on who will pay you to do the work. Leave with outreach sent, follow-ups underway, and a new friend or two who gets exactly what you're building.

We can't wait to see you on the patio, building the life you want to live, one brave email / DM at a time.
