AI, Souls, and What Makes Us Human: Human-AI Coexistence Salon

PLEASE NOTE: This event is cross-listed on Meetup, which hosts the majority of our registrants.

What does it mean to be human in a world increasingly shared with artificial intelligence? What might it look like to coexist meaningfully with digital minds?

Join DC Digital Minds for a our new series, the Human-AI Coexistence Salon, for casual, open-ended conversation on the questions emerging at the intersection of technology and our deepest beliefs. We'll kick the salon series off in November with a discussion of possible machine souls, inspired by a recent New York Times article about Anthropic's conversations with the Vatican. You're welcome to read it beforehand using this gift link, but feel free to simply show up and enjoy some Greek food and good conversation. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and your own perspective. People of all faiths, or none, are warmly welcome. Feel free to invite a friend who might not otherwise see this invite! We want as many perspectives as possible.

Future Human-AI Coexistence Salons will feature similar casual conversation about the issues ordinary people are facing as AI becomes increasingly powerful, and increasingly present our lives. We invite you to reach out to the organizers to suggest a topic you'd like to discuss.
