EAG Watch Party: Sustainable Motivation
Watch Party: Sustainable Motivation 💡
Doing work that matters is a marathon, not a sprint. While we often feel the pressure to push ourselves to the limit, staying effective in the long term requires more than just "working harder"—it requires a strategy for staying motivated over decades, not just months.
Join us at the EAN office for a screening of a talk by Helen Toner, the Interim Executive Director at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET). She’ll challenge the common misconception that burnout is just a "health bar" to be refilled with vacations. Instead, we’ll discuss how we can shift our focus toward sustainable motivation—designing a life and work rhythm that keeps us energized and effective for the long haul.
This will be an interactive session. After the 20-minute video, we’ll open the floor for an honest check-in: are we currently falling into these same burnout patterns? We’ll discuss whether we can realistically implement Helen’s strategies into our own lives and how we can set better community norms to support long-term impact.
