About Event

Let's examine why fears around public speaking have become so common that people say they fear presenting to an audience to be a greater fear than death!

In reality, public speaking can set you apart, and set you up for visibility, recognition, raises and promotions!

We look at why we have been cultured to keep quiet, and wonder why when we are asked to voice an opinion or express our point of view, that it's automatically awkward.

All we can remember is that we "messed up" and if the opportunity to speak were to arise again, many of us stay small and avoid the chance to build the skills.

We then shift to look at 8 "Tips of the Iceberg" and share some practical content around 8 ways to improve your confidence and content when public speaking. You'll see there's a lot of overlap in the main points and yet so much more to learn. There are no hacks to public speaking, instead look at opening the doors to develop a skill of a lifetime.

About the Presenter
At one time John Bass was among the most nervous and avoidant of potential speakers in the room. He learned through public speaking practice, and public facing roles to master his fears and thrive!
He's got room to grow, but after a stint as a tour guide and summer theatre performer, he found his niche and since then has found the fun in public speaking, personally and professionally.
