About Event

Breath as Medicine explores one of the oldest technologies available to us: the breath itself - and the growing body of science confirming what ancient practices have long understood intuitively. Research now shows that slow, controlled breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, increases heart rate variability, and enhances parasympathetic activity - shifting the body toward relaxation, emotional regulation, and deeper rest. What was once considered purely a spiritual discipline is now recognized as a natural form of neuromodulation with measurable effects on the brain. MandukaScienceDirect

Through pranayama, the ancient system of conscious breath regulation, you will learn to access a pathway most people only experience by accident - in a moment of unexpected calm, or the exhale after real relief. Regular practice creates a lasting shift in the nervous system's baseline, not merely a passing sense of ease. Kaplan Center for Integrative MedicinePotentialz Unlimited

Join us for an evening exploring both the science and the practice - where breath becomes not simply something we do to survive, but something we can wield, with intention, to heal.

Dr. Nitin will unpack what's actually happening in our physical body when we practice pranayama - and why it is so important to shift our focus from automatic breathing to conscious breathing. This talk is held alongside yoga & meditation global wellness guide & experiences curator, Paola Cruz. Both Dr. Nitin and Paola will guide you through deeply relaxing breath-work practices throughout the session.
