NYMM was founded in 2024 in Manhattan by four players who wanted to share the highlight of their week ~ mahj night ~ with their friends. We believe the magic of mahjong is in everything that happens around the table, not just the hand you build.
At NYMM, yes, we’ll help you learn the game and the strategy - how to read your hand, navigate the Charleston and game play, know when to pivot, and play defensively.
But we’ll also help you learn the flow of the social mahjong table. How to keep the game moving, chat while you play, and enjoy the people sitting across from you. That's the mahj magic. Because the best mahj isn’t just about the hand you build, it’s about the table you’re at.
We believe mahjong is a game you get better at by playing, which is why our biweekly series gives you a chance to build confidence, level up your game, compete, and meet great people along the way.
And we love a little friendly competition! 🏆 Rack up points throughout the series, climb the NYMM Leaderboard, earn bragging rights, and compete for rewards. Because mahj is more magical when you win.
As mahjong continues its mainstream explosion, we’re also committed to celebrating the history, heritage, and traditions that have been passed down through generations and make this game so special.

Your ticket determines which table you’ll be seated at, so please read each ticket description carefully before purchasing.

Food + drinks are not included with your NYMM ticket.

🎟️ Advance registration is required — seats are limited and sell out fast
🚫 Tickets are non-refundable unless you find a replacement for your ticket type. Once they register, alert us with their name and we’ll issue you a refund.
📸 NYMM nights are made to be shared. Photography may take place throughout the event and may be shared. If you prefer not to be included, just let us know when you arrive.
