Getting the Beat
w/ Hope Spears and Helena Bhatia
This experience designed for anyone curious to explore their own pulse — emotional, creative, and symbolic. It’s a free play of imagination: no experience needed, only curiosity.
Getting the Beat is a transformative and uplifting introduction into the Massa Confusa self-discovery system, blending key modalities such as meditation, breathwork, movement, and active imagination.
Active imagination is a reimagined form of meditation based on method of Swiss psychotherapist Carl Jung. By turning emotions into symbolic images and narratives, the brain can reframe them. This supports emotional regulation, making active imagination a powerful tool for healing, integration and conscious transformation.

MEET YOUR GUIDES
Hope is a multidisciplinary artist and a company dancer with LA Dance Project. Touring the world with the company, she has performed in Brisbane, Sydney, Dubai, New York, and numerous cities across France. Recently, she has been inspired by the idea of a healing dance practice that both professionals and non-professionals can tap into.
Through the use of imagery and movement, she creates a space where energy is revitalized and shifted. Hope’s class empowers each individual, offering clarity and deeper insight into themselves. Leading with curiosity and tenderness, she cultivates an environment where everyone feels open and safe to dive deep and move closer to their true selves.
Helena is the founder of Massa Confusa with over a decade of experience. Her international work spans Hollywood as well as productions in Paris, Berlin, and Hong Kong, alongside directing large-scale shows. She believes that her regular meditative and performative practice helps her navigate everyday life with clarity and balance. Helena works with both seasoned performers and curious beginners and holds a master’s degree in theatre and film direction, with studies at Konrad Wolf Babelsberg and Stanford.
