​The news cycle delivers a constant stream of events that feel too enormous to really take in, let alone process emotionally. It's no wonder so many people have simply tuned out — and honestly, who could blame them? In all the conversations we've had over the past few years, we've never once heard someone say they feel good about their relationship with the news.

​Every day we're confronted with headlines about suffering, war, political polarisation, and systemic violence. In the face of all this, most of us are left with what feel like two equally terrible options: retreat into blissful ignorance, or doomscroll ourselves into despair.

​We want to try something different.

​Reading the news triggers emotions. Those emotions push us toward reaction. Left unprocessed, we tend to either numb out or go into overdrive — reactive, exhausted, driven by something we never consciously chose. But when we process those emotions together, in a supportive and structured space, something can shift. The gap between what we feel and what we do widens. We get to choose. And from that place of choice, real agency becomes possible.

​Using practices from Joanna Macy's Work that Reconnects and Active Hope, we'll create a space where exactly this kind of processing can happen.
