Pound the Pressure: Mochi Beat & Social Jam
βPound the Pressure: Mochi Beat & Social Jam π₯π‘
βWhat if you could literally pound your stress away?
βWork, relationships, everyday worries β we all carry a little pressure. What if, for a change, we could turn it into something sticky, stretchy, and delicious?
βJoin fungiii for a hands-on mochi-making workshop where traditional Japanese mochi pounding meets teamwork, storytelling, and social connection. Together, weβll pound steamed glutinous rice into soft, chewy mochi, share a few laughs, and get to know people beyond the usual small talk.
βNo experience needed β just bring your curiosity, a little energy, and whateverβs been on your mind lately. π₯
βπ₯ What to Expect
β1. Meet & Mix
Get to know fungiii, pick a colorful headscarf, and join a randomly assigned team of four. New faces, fresh energy!
β2. Put Your Pressure on Paper
Write down something thatβs been stressing you out lately. Tuck it beneath your mochi bowl β itβs time to give those worries a good pounding!
β3. Discover the Tradition
Learn about the cultural roots of mochi pounding, a hands-on practice that brings people together through rhythm, coordination, and shared effort.
β4. Pound, Turn & Stretch!
Work with your teammates to transform steamed glutinous rice into mochi. Find your rhythm, cheer each other on, and see whose team can stretch their mochi the longest!
β5. Make, Taste & Share
Shape your freshly pounded mochi into bite-sized pieces, add your favorite toppings, and enjoy the fruits of your teamwork. Over a sweet treat, weβll reflect on how we feel and share our stories β only as much as we feel comfortable sharing.
β6. Connect & Unwind
Come together for a relaxed group reflection. You might discover that the things weighing on us aren't so different after all.
