Erick is the Founder and CEO of Próspera, the special economic zone on Roatán Island, Honduras, operating under its own legal framework. Próspera has captured the attention of global entrepreneurs and investors including Balaji Srinivasan, Brian Armstrong, and Tim Draper, and is widely recognized as one of the most dynamic places on Earth to build companies.
Erick is a proven finance professional and serial entrepreneur. He started his career in private banking at Brown Brothers Harriman and moved into investment banking at AG Edwards & Sons (now Wells Fargo), where he led sell-side M&A transactions valued at over $1.2 billion. He later joined Ernst & Young's London consulting practice advising private equity clients on acquisitions, then served as CFO of Latin American operations for the Borealis Group. As an entrepreneur, Erick founded ComparaMejor.com, the leading online insurance brokerage in Colombia, before launching NeWay Capital and its subsidiary Honduras Próspera LLC, where he serves as Chairman and CEO.
