Building Nova Scotia’s Workforce Advantage

​Nova Scotia is entering a major period of economic growth.

​With new investment in defence and shipbuilding, housing, infrastructure, clean energy and other major projects, much of the conversation in Halifax right now is focused on what comes next for the province’s economy.

​But behind every major project is a workforce question: Who will do the work, and how do we make sure Nova Scotians can access the opportunities being created?

​Following a week of conversations in Halifax about the future of Canada’s defence and shipbuilding sectors, FutureFit AI is bringing together a small group of leaders from industry, government, workforce development, education and economic development for an informal evening of drinks, light bites and conversation.

​We’ll explore how Nova Scotia can better connect employer demand with training, skills, career pathways and talent, and what it will take to build a workforce system that can keep pace with the province’s ambitions.
