About Event

This high-level APRM-Pathfinders VNR Lab, to be held during the 2026 High-level Political Forum (HLPF), will bring together representatives from African member states, international organizations, and civil society to share good practices and lessons learned on how Voluntary National and Local Reviews (VNRs and VLRs), as well as other review processes, can be leveraged to strengthen governance on the Continent and priorities related to peacebuilding through enhanced access to justice and key developmental rights. In short, this open exchange will aim to:

  • Identify synergies across AU2063 and Agenda 2030 on issues of governance, as reflected in VNRs, VLRs and other review processes.

  • Amplify interlinkages to improve people-centered results and better support institutions and systems in meeting peace and development priorities on the continent, including as related to access to clean water, energy, and infrastructure, themes central to the SDGs under review this year, as well as the Second Ten Year Implementation Plan (STYIP) of AU2063.

  • Highlight successful initiatives that enhance governance localization across the African continent.

  • Support improved coherence and reporting efficiencies across Agendas.
