Listening Tables - GS Military Vets Session 1
Welcome to the Trust Collaboratory's Listening Tables!
Military Veterans of Columbia (MilVets) and Women Veterans of Columbia (WVCU) are partnering with the Trust Collaboratory on Listening Tables, a series of structured, moderated conversations where veterans can speak candidly about their experiences on campus, from academic transition to campus culture to relationships within the veteran community itself. New student veterans are especially encouraged to attend: it's a low-pressure way to meet others who share a similar background and start building connections early. Non-veteran students are welcome too, as listeners and participants in a broader conversation about trust, belonging, and leadership at Columbia.
Listening Tables is about proving that we're willing to listen to the students we serve, and building a Columbia veteran community where everyone feels a little more connected.

💡The Listening Tables are a grassroots initiative by faculty, postdocs, and students at Columbia University, hosted in our unique academic town square. Alongside our weekly Wednesday sessions, we offer opportunities for students to lead their own projects, to take classes in our undergraduate course, and to participate in public sessions throughout New York City. With us, you can choose your own journey and become a change maker at Columbia. Join us!
✨Our Ethos: If you have strong perspectives, questions you want to test, or are simply curious about how others think, the Listening Tables offer a space to engage. Our principle of engagement is that even in moments of deep disagreement, participants make a good faith effort to understand each other and treat each other with respect.
