About Event

Ramps only appear for a few fleeting weeks each spring in a few select places around the world - and when they do, chefs and food lovers go wild.

Join a small, intimate group for an Upstate ramp foraging adventure led by Wen-Jay, founder of Local Roots NYC, who has spent nearly 20 years shaping New York’s local food scene.

Spend the afternoon exploring the woods, learning how to identify ramps and harvest them ethically, and walk away with about 1 lb of ramps per person—perfect for making ramp butter, ramp salt, pizza, and more.

After the forage, we’ll gather for a light farm-to-table snack and drinks, celebrating the day together, sharing stories, and enjoying the energy of the forest.

This is a rare, small-group experience—a portion of the ticket price goes towards taking care of the land.

The location is revealed once your ticket is purchased, as this is private property - we will be going to Hudson, NY. The drive is about 2 hours from NYC, and transportation is not included. You can either rent your own car or take the train Hudson and we will pick you up from the train station that’s 15min away. The land we are foraging on is flat, and no hiking is needed. The foraging adventure will end at approximately 1:45pm.

This trip happens rain or shine—we’re catching the very end of ramp season, and if you miss it, you’ll have to wait another year!
