About Event

You are invited to attend an online information session to gain a deeper understanding of the FNB Digital Enablement Programme in partnership with Edge Growth, including the application process and the value that the programme will provide to the selected 15 SMEs.

FNB is committed to actively promoting sustainable growth for small to medium enterprises, which is why they have partnered with Edge Growth to deliver targeted support to South African black-owned SMEs facing the risk of digital disruption.

Digital enablement for South African SMEs refers to the strategic integration of both digital software and hardware solutions across operations, products, and customer engagement channels. It involves moving beyond the digitisation of manual processes to redesigning business models, improving operational efficiency, enabling data-driven decision-making, and expanding market reach. Within the South African context, marked by infrastructure constraints, evolving consumer behaviour, and uneven digital skills, digital enablement has become essential to SME resilience, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability.

DEP equips programme participants with the skills, tools, and structured guidance required to begin or accelerate this transition. Through focused interventions, SMEs strengthen their operational effectiveness, enhance digital adoption across key functions, and build the capabilities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

DEP is designed to support majority (≥51%) black-owned SMEs with an annual revenue between R2 million and R10 million that are ready to take an active role in their digital enablement journey. The programme targets SMEs across the following key industries:

  • Green Economy and Clean Tech

  • Processing and Manufacturing

  • Logistics and Warehousing

  • Infrastructure and Circular Value Chains

  • Construction Supply and Engineering Services

In addition to turnover, industry, and ownership, consideration may also be given to SME personas such as appetite for scale, readiness for digital transformation, operational maturity, profitability, growth ambition, and ability to implement digital change.
