Community Scream For Moms & Default Parents
Kids, School, Work, Partners, Septa Cuts, Fa$cism, War, Paperwork, Scheduling, The State of the World...
It's a lot for moms and default/single parents at this time of year. Let out some steam in community with other parents. We'll meet at the Washington Ave entrance to the bike path at Washington and Columbus Aves on the river side then walk to Washington Pier. When we get there, we'll let out our frustration all at the same time for about 30 seconds (a few times). We'll do intros to each other before the screaming and then regroup after if you want to. Do what works for you.
Who are you and why are you doing this? I am a mom and I am doing this 90% for myself and also because I think other parents must need it, too. I am also working on building a more intentional village so that parents can have more structure around helping and finding each other. IRL events are part of that. If you'd like to learn more you can fill out the Village survey here. Hopefully this event helps parents and provides some in-person solidarity and a way to express ourselves.
There will be a simultaneous play date at Shot Tower Playground nearby if you'd like to occupy your children/partners at the same time.
Consider bringing:
Water
A list of the things you want to scream about
Earplugs
A journal/pen
*Please note there may be photos taken at this event. If you do not wish to be photographed, you will have an opportunity to tell us at the scream or you can reach out to Rachel via email at [email protected]. Thank you.
