About Event

In partnership with CUSP and taught by Marshall and Samyuktha, learn how to use a map and a compass while in the outdoors! This class is suited for beginners of all ages, and may be especially helpful for those who took our first navigation class at The Hinterlands.

Finding our way is an essential skill that, in the era of smartphones, many of us don't have anymore. But it's critical for times when you may not have access to cell service, hunters, and anyone who wants to know how to find their place in this world and where they're going. Finding your path through navigation often goes hand in hand with finding your path back to the land, too.

In this completely outdoor workshop, you'll learn how to find north, follow bearings, and read maps without using your phone leaving you empowered with new knowledge! We'll learn by splitting up into teams and doing a scavenger hunt too!

Safety and meet-up instructions will be sent before class!
