NYC Meet Up #19 - Improv for Well-being
As L&D leaders we need to care for ourselves in order to help others grow. The best way to do that is through lightness and laughter.
Improv comedy is about seeking truth in the moment, not about being funny (though that can be a delightful outcome). In this playful workshop you’ll explore improv’s core principles to reduce stress, foster joyful connections, and lead with bravery.
Participants will:
Leverage movement to break out of the analytical mind
Create something out of nothing with others
Deepen self-awareness through presencing and reflection exercises
Follow the fear…find the fun.
About the host:
Lisa Pertoso is a learning experience designer, comedian and writer. Ten years ago she founded Follow the Fear, a leadership development studio that supercharges leaders into more adaptable humans through improv-based experiences and LXD consulting.
She performs improv, sketch, and storytelling at NYC’s top theaters like Magnet, The PIT, and throughout the Hudson Valley. Her satire and personal essays have appeared in McSweeney's, Glamour, Insider, and one very nice Canadian Newspaper. To stay in touch subscribe to her Substack here.
