Financing Sustainable Forest Management - a field trip at PRI In Person
Step outside the conference and into an FSC®-certified forest for a hands-on look at how sustainable forest management translates into investable, nature-based outcomes. Hosted jointly by FSC Netherlands and the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam City Forest), itself FSC-certified, this field trip combines a guided walk through the forest with a presentation by Amsterdamse Bos on its biodiversity project for pollinator habitats and how sustainable forest management projects can help unlock finance for nature-based outcomes, alongside insights from FSC on proven financing and investment models in sustainable forestry.
A coach will depart from and return to the RAI conference centre; exact departure point and time will be confirmed with registered participants.
Organised by: FSC Netherlands, in collaboration with Amsterdamse Bos and colleagues from FSC Investments and Partnerships.
Target audience: Investors, asset owners and sustainability professionals interested in biodiversity finance, natural capital and nature-based investment opportunities within sustainable forestry. Please note that we have limited spaces available.
About FSC®
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the international standard for responsible forest management, setting environmental, social and economic criteria that certified forests and supply chains must meet. Active in over 90 countries, FSC certification gives investors, companies and consumers a verifiable way to identify wood, paper and forest-derived products that come from forests managed to protect biodiversity, respect the rights of workers and local communities, and maintain forests' long-term ecological and economic value.
About Amsterdamse Bos
Created in the 1930s as a public works project during the Great Depression — with over 20,000 unemployed labourers hand-planting more than 200,000 trees — Amsterdamse Bos is now one of the largest urban forests in Europe at roughly 1,000 hectares, a protected nature reserve three times the size of New York's Central Park. Owned and managed by the City of Amsterdam and FSC®-certified, it combines recreation for over millions of annual visitors with active biodiversity work, including projects on pollinator habitats and urban forest stewardship.
