⭐️ Interest Form: NOW OPEN! ⭐️

Welcome to the 2027 HackSaigon: Innovation Sprint, a virtual hackathon running February 19–21, 2027. It's built for ambitious high school and undergraduate builders. Over three intensive days, you'll get an international-standard stage to turn bold ideas into impactful minimum viable products (MVPs).

HackSaigon is a student-led initiative founded by Vietnamese students at universities in the US and Vietnam. We exist to close the gap between theory and practice: hands-on experience with modern technical workflows, and a real shot at competing on a global stage.

Competition theme: Supply Chain Optimization

Supply chains feed, build, and move the world. Pick one of four tracks. Each has an open prompt, so your team chooses the real-world pain point you want to solve.

  • Agricultural: increase production and innovate in how food is grown.

  • Industrial: increase output and optimize production time.

  • Logistics: streamline storage management and shipping.

  • Business: optimize how organizations run internally.

What to expect

  • Lean virtual infrastructure. We run on Discord, Zoom, and Devpost. That keeps talent density high, costs low, and as much of our budget as possible in the prize pool.

  • Impact-driven tracks. Work in intercollegiate and interscholastic teams on complex, real-world challenges across four industry tracks.

  • Comprehensive builder support. Five specialized workshops, two exclusive fireside chats, and dedicated mentor office hours help you take your project from idea to execution.

  • Rigorous evaluation and a live finale. Every MVP and pitch package gets one thorough round of review. The sprint ends in a high-stakes finale where only the top three teams present live on the main virtual stage.

  • Global networking. Connect with innovators worldwide, including campus ambassadors and participants from institutions like Purdue, the University of Minnesota, and UEL.

Who can join

  • High school students in Grades 10–12 and undergraduate students.

  • Teams of 1-4 members. No team yet? Find teammates in our Discord before the event.

  • Fully online, so you can join from anywhere.

What to submit

Before the 08:00 deadline on Sunday, each team submits on Devpost:

  1. A slide deck. Cover the problem, your team, your product (features, unique selling points, and development cost), how it solves the problem, and the business case (scalability and implementation strategy).

  2. A code repository.

  3. A business proposal.

  4. A video that pitches and demos your product.

How projects are judged

Judging happens in two stages.

  1. Judging round (Sunday, 09:00–13:00). A panel of industry and academic judges reviews each team's pitch and demo video alongside the submission package. They score it on a 65-point rubric and leave written feedback.

  2. Live Finale (Sunday, 14:00–15:00). The three highest-scoring teams pitch live to the judges in the Zoom main room, followed by Q&A.

Projects are scored on:

  • Impact: how well the solution solves a real pain point for real communities and businesses.

  • Technical execution: whether the MVP works and is well built.

  • Innovation: how original the approach is.

  • Market viability: whether it can be deployed, scaled, and sustained at a realistic cost.

We reward validated, deployable MVPs over novelty prototypes.

Stay connected

See you at the sprint!
