Cacao, Medicine songs & Connection
An intimate evening of music, ceremonial cacao, and shared presence, a space to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with the rhythm of the Earth.
Through live medicine songs and shared singing by Mara Mehrunissa and stories from Guatemala shared by Anastasiia Shikina, we gather around cacao as a living tradition carried through generations of hands, land, memory, and care.
The evening unfolds as a woven experience of live music, ceremonial cacao, silence, reflection, and storytelling. Together we explore the relationship between people and cacao, honoring the communities and ancestral knowledge that continue to protect and carry this tradition. Anastasiia will share moments from her documentary journey in Guatemala: encounters with local families, the landscapes where cacao grows, and reflections on the cultural roots and meaning of ceremonial cacao.
This gathering is an invitation into presence: to listen, to soften, to feel, and to remember our connection with the Earth and with one another. By attending, guests also support the post-production of a documentary film about ceremonial cacao in Guatemala.
