About Event

Join us for an evening with Bryan Caplan, Professor of Economics at George Mason University, New York Times bestselling author, and one of the most provocative voices in contemporary economic thought.

About Bryan Caplan:

Bryan Caplan is a Professor of Economics at George Mason University and Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center. He is known for challenging conventional wisdom with rigorous economic analysis and data-driven arguments that often upend mainstream thinking.

His books include The Myth of the Rational Voter (named "the best political book of the year" by the New York Times), Selfish Reasons to Have More Kids, The Case Against Education, and Open Borders: The Science and Ethics of Immigration (co-authored with SMBC cartoonist Zach Weinersmith). His work has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and The Atlantic, and he's appeared on ABC, BBC, Fox News, and MSNBC.

A self-described "economic libertarian," Caplan specializes in public economics, behavioral economics, public choice theory, and the economics of education and family. His writing combines academic rigor with accessibility, and he's never afraid to take contrarian positions backed by evidence.

What to Expect:

This will be an open Q&A format where Bryan will discuss his current thinking on:

  • Immigration policy in the Trump era

  • His latest takes on childcare and early childhood education

  • Economics, parenting, and policy questions from the audience

Caplan is known for his engaging, never-boring speaking style and his willingness to tackle tough questions head-on.
