Chalo Baatein Karen (“Let’s just talk”) - A Discussion Series
Raising and being a teen in today’s world is a lot. There is pressure, competition, expectations, and stress, along with the constant feeling that you might be getting it wrong. Parents worry they are missing signs. Teens often feel misunderstood, unheard, or unsure how to explain what is going on.
In partnership with the MSJ Psych Club, this Chalo Baatein Karen session creates space for both sides. With guidance from expert Simi Markar, MFT, we will explore what stress looks like for teens, what it brings up for parents, and why communication can feel harder than it should. Together, we will talk about how love and frustration can exist at the same time and how conversations at home can start to feel lighter.Through real stories, relatable examples, and practical insights, this is a dialogue for parents and youth to hear each other differently.
Join others who are navigating the same tension at home. Sometimes one honest conversation can shift more than months of silence.
