About Event

Make Room at Work: The Psychology of Connection and Belonging - A Loneliness Awareness Week workplace event by Connect by Tribal

Aligned with Loneliness Awareness Week (August 3-9), this session explores why workplace loneliness is becoming an important wellbeing and psychosocial safety issue - and what organisations can do to respond.

Connection does not happen by accident, especially at work. It grows in the spaces, cultures and opportunities we intentionally create for one another.

Join us for an afternoon seminar exploring workplace loneliness, belonging and the role of meaningful connection in building healthier, safer and more engaged workplace cultures.

Hosted by Rachel Harker, Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Tribal Group, this psychology-led session will unpack why loneliness and disconnection are becoming important workplace wellbeing and psychosocial safety issues, and what organisations can do to respond in practical, human and preventative ways.

This workshop is designed for founders, HR leaders, People & Culture teams, wellbeing leads, small business owners and anyone interested in creating more connected workplaces.

What we’ll cover

  • Why loneliness is increasingly relevant to modern workplaces

  • The link between connection, belonging, psychological safety and wellbeing

  • How workplace disconnection can impact engagement, culture and productivity

  • Practical ways organisations can “make room” for connection

  • How to create more inclusive, intentional and emotionally safe opportunities for people to connect

  • How tools like Connect by Tribal can support ongoing workplace connection beyond one off events

Event format

The session will include a short keynote, guided conversations, followed by relaxed social networking.

Rather than a traditional networking event, this will be a warm, structured and inclusive space designed to help people genuinely connect.
