Ballot Party with BLM BNTC
Join Us for a Ballot Party at Tuesday Night’s Black Neighborhood Tenant Council
Bring your ballot, bring your questions, and learn how to vote all the way down the ballot with us.
Join us on Tuesday, October 27 for our BLM Black Neighborhood Tenant Council Ballot Party, in partnership with LAANE, Long Beach for a Just Economy, and We Are California.
We’re creating a welcoming space to help our community understand what’s on the ballot, especially the statewide propositions, and feel more confident voting all the way down the ballot.
We’ll break down key propositions in plain language, talk through what a YES or NO vote actually means, and look at questions such as: Who benefits? Who pays? Who holds power? What changes if a measure passes, and what happens if it doesn’t? We’ll also talk about the money behind ballot campaigns and how different measures may connect to issues affecting Black communities, renters, workers, families, and neighborhoods.
SPECIAL OFFER: To help you prepare, we created an interactive and engaging Black California Voter Guide with nonpartisan information about statewide ballot measures, campaign arguments, campaign-finance information, voting resources, and questions to consider through a Black community lens. The unique guide is designed for voter education, not to tell anyone how to vote.
