​When you interact with AI models or metered APIs today, your API key is hard-linked to an account and payment method. Every prompt—whether about sensitive code, health, or private finances—builds a continuous, traceable record linked directly to your identity.

​zkAPI introduces digital cash for APIs—decoupling your payment identity from your service usage using Zero-Knowledge proofs. Co-developed by the Open Anonymity Project and the Ethereum Foundation (based on research by Davide Crapis and Vitalik Buterin), zkAPI enables private, pay-as-you-go API consumption for AI agents and Web3 infrastructure.
