IEEE After Hours: From Invention to Industry, Lessons from the Isochronic Journey
The IEEE EPFL Student Branch is excited to introduce IEEE After Hours, a new series of events designed to give students direct access to founders, researchers and engineers who are actively reshaping the technological landscape with groundbreaking innovations. These evening sessions will feature a talk from our invited guests where they can share their insights, an interactive Q&A session, and of course, a free apero to discuss and network more informally after the session.
Join us for our inaugural event, where EPFL alum Dr. Melvin Haas, Founder of Isochronic AG, will talk about his startup's journey from invention to industry.
From invention to industrial automation revolution: Isochronic AG’s journey establishing simultaneous pick & place robotics
Isochronic AG’s journey from 2020–2025 illustrates how an innovative patent discovered through various robotics-customer interactions can spark an entirely new paradigm in industrial robotics. The presentation highlights the company’s journey from inception to our decisive market pivot after showcasing our innovation at the AUTOMATICA exhibition in 2022, the reality of navigating challenges across technology, fundraising, and early customer adoption, and the transition from prototype to a globally scalable product. Finally, it explores the learnings behind scaling the business from invention to impact — offering EPFL engineers a concrete blueprint for turning deep-tech ideas into industrial revolutions.
The event will be followed by pizza 🍕 + drinks 🥂, and there is a chance to win a free one year student IEEE membership, which will give you access to future member-exclusive events 👀. Don't miss out, register now!
