Sarma für Alle
Well, I'm no chef, and this is not your typical cooking workshop!
I'm Deniz (she/her), moved to Hamburg 2,5 years ago. I built my practice from scratch. It's called Ara Mekân. It means "The Space in Between" in Turkish. I know from experience that moving across borders, finding your flow, and building a community can be really challenging. But sometimes, all it takes to feel at home is a warm kitchen, a shared table, and the comforting ritual of preparing food together. Let's turn over a new leaf, literally and figuratively.
Are you tired of solo dinners? Let's turn over a new leaf, literally. Sarma für Alle is a hands-on workshop exploring food, memory, and belonging through the practice of rolling stuffed vine leaves. We're working from my grandmother's recipe and creating space for your stories too. What flavors or food memories do you carry? No cooking experience needed; just show up.
