Boson AI Γ MScAC : Higgs Audio Hackathon 2026
βOne build day. Your next big idea, out loud. ποΈ
βπ§ Build something worth hearing.
βBoson AI and U of T's Master of Science in Applied Computing (MScAC) program are teaming up again for the Higgs Audio Hackathon, the weekend before reading week.
βFriday, we kick off. Saturday, we build, demo, and celebrate. You bring the idea (and a laptop). We bring the tools, the mentors, and the snacks.
βNew to voice AI? No problem. If you're curious and like building things, you'll fit right in.
βπ οΈ What you'll build with
βGet hands-on with Boson AI's Higgs models:
βπ§ Higgs Realtime: live voice, interruptions, and tool calling
βπ§βπ€ Higgs Avatar: animate a still image with speech
βπ£οΈ Higgs TTS: make every word expressive
βπ‘ Not sure what to build? Try one of these:
βCross language barriers. Build a tutor or guide that follows users as they switch languages, even mid-sentence.
βMake conversation feel natural. Play with tone, pacing, and turn-taking. Let users interrupt or change their minds, then recover gracefully.
βBuild agents that act. Use tool calling to look something up or complete a task, and show the result in your demo.
βGive speech a face. Pair expressive, multilingual speech with Higgs Avatar for lip-sync and facial expressions that follow the voice.
βπ Get a head start
βParticipant API access opens October 16, one week before kickoff. Start with the Realtime tutorial (voice + tool calling) or the Avatar quickstart (talking video from an image and speech), so you arrive ready to build.
