ligare gathering: the math isn't mathing
vine memorial · Tuesday night
Ligare runs gatherings for kind, curious humans — a structured, facilitated evening of real conversation paired with a great game. Not transactional, not performing--just the joy of connecting, where someone else has thought through every detail so you can just show up and be you.
Tuesday, June 23, we're at Vine Memorial in Spring Branch for a gathering themed around "the math isn't mathing" — the moments when something doesn't add up, the gut feelings we can't quite explain, and what we do with the things we notice before we can prove them.
We're playing a quick, clever card game most of our guests have never tried — taught at your table in five minutes. It rewards reading the room, trusting your gut, and noticing what others don't.
Every guest is thoughtfully paired with a table — based on personality, life stage, and how you connect. Brenen, who built this thing, checks you in at the door and stays through the night.
doors open at 6. we kick off at tables by 7. Come after work, ease in, turn off the performance, and let yourself play.
how a gathering runs
before you arrive You'll take a short Connection Profile so we know how you connect. A few days out, we'll send a preview of the game and what the night is about. The day before: something to think about, a preview of the questions, and a playlist built around the theme.
when you arrive (6–7 PM) Check in with Brenen at the door. Grab a drink ticket, a nametag, and a printed program with your table assignment, a letter written just for you, and a game cheat sheet. A chalkboard prompt at the entrance ties to the theme. Light games are running. Settle in.
your table (~75–90 min) The host moves everyone to their tables. You meet the people chosen for your night, order food, and light a candle. A Spark Card opens the conversation — not an icebreaker, just a question worth answering. We teach each table the game in five minutes, then the evening runs itself: you play, talk, eat, open more cards.
after (~open) Blow out the candle, linger, keep talking. Most people stay longer than they planned. A survey after lets you tell us who you'd love to be connected with, and we'll follow up if it's mutual.
