About Event

Three Paths. One Buddha. Many Ways of Practising.

If Buddhism is rooted in the teachings of one Buddha, why do Buddhist traditions look so different today? What does it actually mean to practise Theravāda, Mahāyāna or Vajrayāna Buddhism? And beyond the labels — what might each tradition offer someone seeking freedom from suffering?

Join us for an evening of conversation with three lay practitioners, each representing one of these.

We'll also unpack some common assumptions about each tradition and open the floor for your questions.

Whether you're new to Buddhism, have been practising for years, or have simply wondered “Which approach resonates with me?” — come curious, ask questions, and explore.

Three traditions. Three perspectives. One opportunity to see Buddhism from a different

Organised by Dhamma Assembly for Young Working Adults (DAYWA) — We are a group of young Buddhist working adults who believe in supporting other fellow practitioners in their work life journey. We exist to increase joy and contentment in daily life by encouraging the practice of the Noble Eightfold Path.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do I need to be a Buddhist to join?

A: No! We are open to all young working adults (age 20-39) who wish to practise and learn the Dhamma (teachings of the Buddha) for a more peaceful life. As long as you are open-minded, respectful and curious to learn, you are welcome to join us.

Q: What is the dresscode?

A: As we will be at a temple setting, please dress modestly with no short skirts, singlets or shorts.

Q: What happens if I don't turn up after signing up?

A: We understand that life happens, but if you don’t show up, please let us know - edit your attendance to "not coming". Seats are limited in size to keep them engaging and meaningful, so every spot matters.

Q: What is DAYWA about?

A: We seek to provide a quiet space for young working adults (20-39 years) to meditate and practise the Dhamma. We offer 6 regular activities to the community: Weekly Guided Meditation (Zoom and in-person), Monthly Dhamma Discussions, DAYWA Cares, Mindful Walk, DOPE - Day Of Practice and Retreats.

Q: Where does DAYWA operate?

A: DAYWA primarily operates through our Telegram community, where we share updates, resources, and event information. It’s our main platform for communication and connection, ensuring everyone stays informed and engaged. For a full FAQ, visit https://www.instagram.com/p/DTHmZPDD0_0/

Q: Why build this space?

A: As we navigated our careers, we realized that adulting brought uncertainty and noise to our meditation practice. We faced new pressures, burnout, and the struggle to find balance between career, relationships, and practice.

We needed a community that understood our unique obstacles.

Q: I'm visiting Singapore. Can I still join?

A: We're touched that you'd want to spend part of your visit with us! However, as DAYWA is focused on building an ongoing local community, we welcome participants who are residing in Singapore for at least the next 6 months. This helps us keep the space intentional and ensure meaningful, lasting connections. We hope you find a mindful community to practice with wherever your journey takes you!
