• 12:30 pm - walk starts
• 5 pm glass of fizz or cup of tea at the Old Bailey, Warwick Square entrance, off Warwick Lane
• 6:00 pm - end

Trains from Victoria/City Thames Link/London Bridge to Sutton (30 minutes), number 80 bus to Belmont, High Down and Downview (8 minutes)

Details of the walk

This walk will be led by HHJ Mark Lucraft KC, Recorder of London and the Deputy Governor of HMP Downview.

​Accompanying walkers Sheriff Robert and Shrieval Consort Elspeth. 

Banstead Road South, Banstead Road, Cambridge Road, Short Road, Nightgale Road, London Road, into Carsholten Road, Commonside West, back onto London Road, into Mitcham Road, right onto Southcroft Road then left onto Rectory Lane, Cycleway 5, Cavendish Road, left onto Englewood Road, cross road onto Clapham Common.  

Public transport from Clapham Common to the Old Bailey. 

Itinerary in prison

10.00 – Arrival

10.15–10.45 – Time with Fine Cell Work

10.45–11.30 – Time with Making for Change

11.30–12.00 – Brief tour

12.00–12.30 – Early lunch with members of the Prison Council

What to wear and what to bring

PHOTOGRAPHIC ID (driver's licence or passport)

This walk is on London pavements, wear comfortable trainers and clothes and carry as little else as possible. 

​No phones or electronics are allowed in the prison. Belongings in lockers or can be placed in the shrieval cab and brought back to the Old Bailey.
