About Event

Join Mediation Center for a special online event celebrating the release of Perspectives on Conflict: Insights for Professional and Personal Practice by Kenneth H. Fox, JD, #1 New Release on Amazon in Arbitration, Negotiation, and Mediation.

Mediation Center's Executive Director Tobin Lay will lead a thoughtful, guided conversation with Professor Ken Fox exploring the core ideas behind the book, what it means to view conflict through multiple “lenses,” and how these perspectives can meaningfully strengthen our work as mediators, leaders, educators, and professionals who engage with conflict every day.

Together, Tobin and Ken will reflect on what motivated the book, how decades of teaching and practice shaped its development, and why expanding how we “see” conflict often opens the door to more intentional and constructive responses. The conversation will be grounded, accessible, and highly relevant for both seasoned practitioners and those newer to conflict work.

The hour will include moderated audience Q&A and practical takeaways participants can immediately apply in professional and personal settings.

All registrants will receive a discount code for the book.

If you're in Minnesota, please join the in person book signing party also to meet the author and connect with other peacemakers. It will be held the following evening in St. Paul. More details and registration here: https://luma.com/i4xd98pe.

About the Book: Perspectives on Conflict introduces a range of complementary ways of understanding conflict—from the body and the nonconscious mind to language, meaning-making, and systems. Written to be both thoughtful and accessible, the book offers practitioners and reflective professionals a richer framework for understanding what is happening in moments of conflict and choosing more constructive responses.

About Kenneth H. Fox, JD: Kenneth Fox is the university professor of Critical Thinking and Conflict Management and the founding university director of Conflict Studies at Hamline University. He is a long-time educator and practitioner in the conflict resolution field, and a contributor to conflict programs and initiatives in the U.S. and internationally. Ken is a Senior Fellow of Mitchell Hamline School of Law's nationally ranked Dispute Resolution Institute (DRI). For the past 30 years, he has worked closely with and been an integral part of the work of Mediation Center.

About Mediation Center: For 45 years, Mediation Center has provided leading conflict resolution education, training, and services, supporting individuals, families, organizations, and communities in navigating conflict with clarity and integrity. Our 30-hour Civil Mediation Training and 40-hour Family Mediation Training return in February, offering practitioners a deep and practical exploration of core mediation skills and frameworks essential to this work.
