LOGOS CIRCLE WUKARI MEET-UP 4.0
Welcome to the 4th LOGOS Circle Wukari meetup.
Our previous gathering marked an important milestone for the Circle: we carried out our first field action, visiting Success Orphanage Home in Pwadzu under #OperationHealTheNationOnePatientAtATime
This meetup is a chance to pause, reflect, learn from that first outreach, and turn the experience into a stronger, more coordinated plan for the months ahead.
We will review what went well, what didn't, what we learned, and what needs to change as we carry #OperationEducateAChild and #OperationHealTheNationOnePatientAtATime into our partner schools.
Agenda
Welcome & Circle Check-in We will welcome returning and new members, briefly reconnect with the purpose of LOGOS Circle Wukari, and reflect on what we have achieved since our last Circle, three meetups held and three sub-groups formed, each assigned to a partner school.
Success Orphanage Home: Our First Field Action. We will reflect on our visit to Success Orphanage Home in Pwadzu.
We will discuss:
What worked well during the outreach
Challenges encountered
Logistics and coordination lessons
Feedback from the children and the matron
What we should repeat, improve, or stop in future activities
The objective is not simply to celebrate the visit, but to learn from it and improve our execution, including the planned follow-up visit to deliver four family-size mattresses, currently pending funds.
School Outreach:- The Next Phase We will finalise our operational roadmap for school-based outreach across our three target schools: Mar-Mara Government Girls Secondary School, GDSS Pwadzu, and Unique Academy Waapang-Aku.
Mar-Mara GGSS is scoped for this month, covering health, career guidance, and digital literacy. GDSS Pwadzu and Unique Academy Waapang-Aku are deferred to later months.
For each school, we will review:
School location and estimated student population
Age groups/classes to be reached
School administration and approval status
Number of students expected to participate
Health screening and talks (with CMDA-FUW)
Career guidance content and facilitators
Digital literacy materials and equipment needed
Educational materials and any items for distribution
Facilitators and volunteers needed
Transportation and logistics (with NYSC CDS Wukari)
Photography/documentation requirements
Pre- and post-activity feedback
This Month's School Activity: Mar-Mara GGSS We will confirm that all necessary permissions, materials, volunteers, and logistics are ready ahead of the Mar-Mara visit, so our first school implementation is organised, measurable, and repeatable.
Coming Months : GDSS Pwadzu & Unique Academy Waapang-Aku We will map out timing and requirements for the deferred schools, so each subsequent visit builds on lessons from the one before it, rather than starting from scratch.
Follow-Through & Sustainability A major part of the next phase is making sure our outreach doesn't end when we leave the school or the orphanage. We will discuss:
Planned medical screenings and hygiene supply distribution at the orphanage, including for teenage girls
How to keep in touch with each school after a visit.
Follow-up on Other Winnable Issues Alongside our school outreach, we continue building on other winnable issues the Circle has identified.
Orphanage Mattress Fund Updates on fundraising progress toward the four family-size mattresses for Success Orphanage Home; member pledges received so far, funds still needed, and target date for the follow-up delivery.
Empowerment & Digital Literacy Updates on planning for the October–December empowerment and digital literacy initiatives.
Community Clean-Up Updates on a potential partnership with the LGA sanitation unit for ongoing clean-up work.
Open Discussion & Community Contributions The floor will be opened for participants to share:
Ideas
Concerns
Skills they can contribute
Potential partners
Schools or communities they can connect us with
Resources they can provide
Technical or operational support they can offer
We want every participant to see a pathway to meaningful contribution.
Next Steps & Responsibilities We will conclude by agreeing on the immediate actions required before the next Circle. This includes confirming:
Mar-Mara GGSS visit details, contacts, and approvals
Required materials
Volunteer responsibilities
Transportation and logistics
Orphanage Mattress Fund; pledge commitments and remaining funding gap
Clean-up and empowerment initiative planning
Date and focus of the next Circle.
What to Bring
Come prepared to:
Listen. Share. Volunteer. Build.
If you have experience in education, healthcare, community organising, technology, communications, logistics, fundraising, design, project management, or youth development, there will be opportunities to contribute.
This is not simply another meetup. It is a working session to turn our conversations into coordinated, measurable community action.
