About Event

Feeling overwhelmed by where (or how) to submit your writing? Wondering how other writers seem to find editors, opportunities, or readers while you’re still sorting your spreadsheet?

You’re not alone, and that’s exactly why Chill Subs exists.

Built by and for writers, Chill Subs has become one of the most-loved submission and community platforms on the internet. It helps writers find the right places to send their work, keep track of submissions, connect with editors, promote their publications, and—most importantly—feel a little less lost in the process.

Join us for a conversation with Benjamin Davis, co-founder of Chill Subs. We’ll talk about the modern submissions landscape, how technology can actually serve creativity, and what it means to find balance between ambition and burnout.

We’ll explore:

  • How Chill Subs began and what problems it’s trying to solve for writers

  • The realities (and absurdities) of the submissions process

  • How to find the right journals, contests, and editors for your work

  • Why visibility and community matter just as much as publication

  • How writers can use Chill Subs to organize, share, and promote their work

  • Behind-the-scenes stories from building one of the internet’s most beloved creative platforms

  • What Benjamin’s learned about resilience, humour, and creative progress from running Chill Subs

About Benjamin Davis

**Held immediately following our Writers’ Hour ET session, in the same room.**
