New Mexico’s First Nutritious Food Pantry Certification Ceremony
A new standard for how we care for students is taking shape in New Mexico, and you are invited to witness it. Rooted in a nationally recognized nutrition-focused pantry model now implemented across the country, SFCC's Campus Cupboard is proud to be the first in the State of New Mexico to meet this standard.
Join us as Santa Fe Community College celebrates a historic first for the state: the official certification of SFCC's Campus Cupboard, the first nutritious food pantry in New Mexico.
This milestone marks a shift from simply providing food to ensuring access to nourishment that supports student health, focus, and long-term success.
This is more than a ceremony.
It is a declaration that basic needs support can be thoughtful, dignified, and rooted in wellbeing.
The program will feature remarks from:
the Santa Fe Community College Foundation, the Campus Cupboard's primary fiscal sponsor;
leadership from the New Mexico Higher Education Department; and
a special spotlight on the New Mexico Basic Needs Consortium, whose collective work continues to expand what is possible across institutions.
Together, we will recognize the students, staff, and community partners who have made this milestone possible and celebrate a model that can be replicated across New Mexico and beyond.
