It might feel like the dead of winter here in Chicago, but we’re trying to warm up a bit with some comforting, scratch made breakfast for all of you! Our next public pop up is right around the corner and we’re so excited to be heading back to Soul Good Coffee for round two.
That’s right, your favorite breakfast gays are going to be serving up some more scratch made goodies Saturday March 28th from 9 AM until Noon (or until sell out). Soul Good Coffee is a Latina owned coffee shop in the Skokie neighborhood and it’s truly one of our favorite spots in the area! They were also the recent recipient of the state’s Small Business Capital and Infrastructure Grant!

Per usual, it’s a first come, first serve/until sell out kind of vibe. This will be a very limited run and will most likely sell out. If you want to get your hands on these breakfast goodies, then you can secure your order ahead of time by pre-ordering below.
Now, let’s talk menu. This menu is extra exciting because we are bringing back some favorites such as:
✨ Ube-Banana Waffles ✨ first seen at our Side Practice Coffee pop up last fall, this includes two (2) ube waffles, banana compote, whipped ube-mascarpone cream, topped with maple syrup.
and our classic
✨ Triple Chocolate & Espresso Cookies ✨ which are made with a combination of bittersweet, milk & dark chocolates, toasted milk powder, and espresso powder.
And some newcomers and offerings we’re so excited to unveil, including:
✨ English Muffin Breakfast Sandwiches, either with our seasoned bacon or roasted sweet potatoes for the veggie lovers. Both are insanely delicious and topped with our house made onion jam.
Plus, a PRE ORDER ONLY exclusive!! ✨ Mango & Toasted Coconut Float / Ice Box Cake (Vegan)
This is our MJ-take on the classic Filipino dessert, with mango curd, fresh mangos, Biscoff cookies, and toasted coconut. It’s all plant-based too! But you can only get this delicious treat by pre-ordering. There won’t be any to grab the day of, so get them while they’re hot (or cold I suppose!).

✨ Uncle Nate Dog Treats!!
These are homemade dog treats crafted with simple ingredients. We started making these a few years ago for the dogs in both of our families as Christmas gifts. The dogs LOVED these treats. As we were starting Morning Jay’s, we always knew we wanted to feature these treats one day. Well, today is that day!
We will also be selling some of our hand screen printed merch, including shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and more!
We’re also going to be giving a portion of proceeds to Chicago Food Rescue!
Chicago Food Rescue is an amazing Chicago-based nonprofit organization whose goal is to bridge the gap between food waste and food insecurity in Chicago and the surrounding areas. They aim to make healthy food accessible to anyone in need, free of charge, wherever they are. They believe that no one should go hungry when there is an abundance of food available. We’ve used them a bunch of times when we have a surplus of food made and it’s an amazing way to connect back into the community.
There will also be another way to support: Gift a Breakfast Sandwich!
Buy a hand-crafted Morning Jay’s frozen breakfast sandwich for a fellow Chicagoan in need and we will match it, giving them all to Chicago Food Rescue who will find great homes and hungry bellies to bring them to. There will be a specific item link on our Hotplate if you want to participate!
