[BF Day Emergency Hub] Fremont Neighborhood Mapping Event
Help us identify vulnerable locations around Fremont!
Now that the BF Day Hub is officially set up, another proactive step we can take to prepare is to identify potentially vulnerable locations in the neighborhood that may need more help in case of an emergency (think: senior facilities, DV shelters, schools, etc.)
We'll grab some beers (or beverage of your choice) and brainstorm a list of these places and the information we'll want to collect about them in advance of a natural disaster, so volunteers are better prepared to help if the need arises.
What is an Emergency Hub?
A Seattle Community Emergency Hub is a pre-determined location where neighbors and community members can gather to begin exchanging information and resources after a disaster event. It has a core of trained volunteers with additional skills who can collect information on local situations, needs, and resources and assist in the allocation of resources to needs.
About the Seattle Hub Network:
The Seattle Hub Network is a coalition of separate Seattle neighborhood hubs having the shared mission of preparing for, responding to, and being resilient after a major disaster.
We accomplish this mission through advocating in support of Hubs, creating opportunities to develop and share understanding of best practices, sponsoring activities such as training, drills and meetings which benefit all, and assisting each other in our individual hub efforts
