Could better data and connected technology help housing providers identify problems earlier and support healthier homes?

Join John Duncan, Connected Places Lead at Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), and guests from the Greater Manchester housing sector for a practical discussion on the role data and connected technology can play in supporting healthier homes.

Housing providers are working to keep homes safe, warm, affordable and in good condition, while dealing with ageing stock, rising costs and stretched teams. Better data, connectivity and connected-home technology could help providers spot issues sooner, understand what is happening inside homes and act before problems become more serious.

The session will explore where connected technology could have the most impact, what gets in the way, and how providers can use it confidently in ways that work for residents and frontline teams.

John will open the session with a short introduction to the issues, opportunities and practical questions facing housing providers. He will then be joined by guest speakers for a panel discussion, followed by audience questions.

Whether you are already delivering connected homes projects or are beginning to explore the possibilities, this is an opportunity to hear from peers, share ideas and contribute to the conversation about healthier homes.

This event is part of Digitober 2026, Greater Manchester’s annual programme celebrating digital innovation, skills and inclusion.
