CTRL Awareness Model, Self-Awareness for Better Coaching
Coaches spend a great deal of time helping clients notice their patterns — but what about the patterns the coach brings into the conversation?
In this interactive masterclass, Toby Newman will introduce the CTRL Awareness Model™ and explore how a coach’s own responses, preferences and assumptions can shape a coaching conversation, often without them consciously noticing.
In this session, we'll look at how greater self-awareness can help coaches recognise what they are bringing into the room, create more space for the client, and make more deliberate choices in the moment.
We’ll also explore how CTRL can be used with clients to create a shared view of their own patterns, surfacing assumptions, differences in perception, and areas worth exploring more deeply.
The session will include a short introduction to the CTRL model, followed by an open Q&A and discussion.
We encourage you to complete the CTRL assessment free of charge before the masterclass — link coming soon — so that, if you wish, you can bring questions about your own results into the session and explore what those results might mean in a coaching context.

About CTRL
CTRL is a perception-based self-awareness mapping tool. It helps people explore how they tend to respond in different relational situations, creating a visual map of patterns rather than a personality label or score. For coaches, it provides a shared starting point for deeper conversations about what someone notices, what they may not notice, and where there may be room for greater choice.
