International Generalist Day — Montreal

Imagine you could meet new friends who understood your squiggly background? Well, now you can!

Join Olga in Montreal for International Generalist Day — a global celebration happening simultaneously across cities worldwide on September 16th, 2026.

Olga is hosting a walk by the Old Port followed by optional picnic to connect Montreal-area generalists

We will meet near Daniel McAllister tugboat and end the walk near the picnic area. We'll continue connecting there with a casual picnic-style hangout.

What is a generalist?

Professionals who apply their skills across multiple domains, connect disparate ideas, or serve as "translators" between different teams and disciplines. If you've ever felt your career doesn't fit in a single box, this celebration is for you.

What to expect:

• Connect with fellow generalists

• Celebrate the power of diverse skillsets and squiggly careers

• Be part of a global movement happening the same day worldwide

• Two hours of talking like humans (if you are tired of seeing AI lingo everywhere!)

OPTIONAL: Please bring a blanket or something to sit on, and feel free to bring a treat, snack, or drink to share!

I'll monitor the weather and may adjust plans as needed.

This meetup is run by Olga and organised by Generalist World - the community where generalists belong. You'll find everything you need to grow in your career - support, opportunity, lots of learning and great new connections.

Please note, you do not need to be a member of GW to join a meetup, everyone is welcome
