LOGOS Circle WUKARI is taking its first outreach directly to the children of Success Orphanage, Pwadzu, in partnership with NYSC Charity CDS Wukari.

Why this matters
Malaria and typhoid are common in children across our area, and they often show up together. A study of febrile patients at health facilities in Wukari found that among cases with both infections, most showed high malaria parasite intensity rather than low. Children in institutional care don't always get consistent access to preventive health information, and this outreach puts that information directly in their hands.
What we're doing
Health talks on malaria and typhoid prevention, for children
Basic screening and symptom checks, led by CDS Wukari medical volunteers
Preventive materials: mosquito nets, water purification aids, hygiene items (from member donations)

Q&A for caregivers and orphanage staff

Arrival & setup Team check-in, materials distribution, welcome from orphanage staff.
Health talk session Age-appropriate education on malaria and typhoid: how they spread, how to prevent them, when to seek help.
Screening & one-on-one checks CDS Wukari volunteers run basic health checks and flag cases that need follow-up.
