Stopping the Erosion in Community Care Across America

​American community care is under extreme pressure -- contracting nationally and disappearing from many non-urban communities from Tennessee to Maine, from Texas to Washington State, everywhere.  For standard cancer treatments or for a variety of chronic diseases that need to be managed, long drives are now the norm as the human face of health has shrunk in so many places. Public policy choices are reshaping the healthcare landscape, and health practitioners are seeing dramatic declines in their economic solvency.  

On Wednesday, July 29, Widehall is bringing together policy practitioners, medical experts, and patient advocates for a pop-up conversation and reception to explore what it will take to sustain equitable access to local, specialized, care and what the future holds for patients managing chronic and life-threatening conditions.
