About Event

On Wednesday, July 1, join NYC AI Governance & Safety for a conversation with ex/ante, Convergent Research, Halcyon Futures, OpenAI Foundation, and Schmidt Sciences on building AI resilience.

AI could usher in a new age of discovery and abundance, but realizing it means contending with the risks that come with rapidly improving capabilities. AI resilience adds a defense-in-depth layer at the societal level, complementing model-level safeguards and developer risk management across biosecurity, cybersecurity, and beyond. Venture capital, philanthropy, and public funding each have a role to play in catalyzing resilience. Read more on resilience here, here, here, and here.

Space will be limited so unfortunately we may not be able to accommodate everyone. Please RSVP only if you can make it, and keep your RSVP up to date. This will enable us to accommodate as many people as possible!

Run of show

  • 6:00-6:30: Drinks, light bites, mingling

  • 6:30-7:30: Panel with Matt Hawes (ex/ante), Kristin Ellis (Convergent Reseach), Ross Matican (Halcyon Futures), Yonadav Shavit (Open AI Foundation), and James Fox (Schmidt Sciences), moderated by Patricia Paskov. Followed by audience Q&A.
