Join Climate Finance Solutions for an expert briefing on the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) Solar PV Located in Non-Traditional Terrain (PLINT) program, which funds R&D for solar PV and battery storage, plus site-assessment and O&M, in non-traditional location in California.

Program snapshot:

  • Deadline: June 9, 2026

  • Available funding: $6M

  • Awards: $500K–$2.5M per project

  • Minimum match: 20%

The program is currently prioritizing projects across three groups:

  • Group 1: Non-Traditional PV Optimization ($3M total; $1M–2.5M awards)

RD&D on agrivoltaic, floatovoltaic, solar canal, roadway, and brownfield sites, including energy and co-benefit quantification; field pilot required

  • Group 2: Site Assessment and Permitting ($1.5M total; $500K–1M awards)
Automated tools for site assessment and data integration using drone, ground survey, and feasibility study methods for siting, permitting, and interconnection planning

  • Group 3: O&M Optimization ($1.5M total; $500K–1M awards)
Open-source AI/ML tools for predictive maintenance, fault detection, and performance monitoring, including deployment guidelines; onsite testing at operational plant required

What You’ll Learn

  • Whether the field testing requirements of the SPLINT program are a realistic fit for your technology

  • Which project group aligns with your roadmap and capabilities

  • What CEC reviewers prioritize (site partners, M&V plans, and ratepayer benefits)

  • How to position your project for pilot validation and future utility-scale deployment

Climate Finance Solutions has helped clients secure $75M+ from CEC programs and over $1.6B in public funding globally, supporting climate and energy technology teams from strategy through proposal submission.

🎥 All registrants will receive access to the webinar recording and slides after the event.
