About Event

This is a slowly emerging series of informal, in-person gatherings that aim to help regrow a living culture, building connection among people who are already interested in the spiritual aspects of social, political, and cultural action in support of change.

The format of the gatherings is 2 hours on the first Friday morning of each month from 10am till midday.  They are very informal conversation spaces - there are no specific themes or presentations, you don't have to do any homework before or after. Nobody gets to dominate the whole room for long, but there's a point midway when people announce projects or events that they're working on that might be of interest to the whole room.

There is no "late" arrival or "early" departure, please come at a time that suits you for as long as you want to stay, within the 2 hours.

There is no compulsion to come with any faith or to talk about what you believe or don't believe. These gatherings are for people who see the importance of remembering that we're more together than we are apart. Some people may come with life-long membership of religious bodies, some may be proudly atheist, most will probably not have any affiliation or be able to put into words what their own idea of the metaphysical is. All are equally welcome exactly as they are.

Lloyd has written a little here about the kinds of questions we're asking ourselves

The vibe is "do-it-yourself, pop-up café". We're very grateful to the Unitarians for providing a central London space with the basics of tables, chairs and an urn - the rest is up to us. Please bring a reusable cup or mug if you can. I'll get some tea and coffee to start us off, but please also bring anything that you'd particularly like to have or like to share with others. The best way is to think about what makes a café space feel convivial to you that you could easily bring with you (and probably take away again). We're also committed to leaving the space in (at least) as good shape as how we find it, please factor in some time for tidying (and washing) up at the end if you're able.

PS if you don't know about the Unitarians and are worried that being in their space is somehow at odds with what we've said above about faith, please have a quick (or extended!) look at their website and we hope you'll be reassured.
